Tribal Police arrested three people in different drug related cases this past weekend.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in Fort Peck Tribal Court, suspects Desi Schaffer, Izzy Ackerman, and Torry Flynn.

Schaffer, 60, was arrested after being pulled over on C Street East in Poplar. She was charged with unlawful possession of dangerous drugs with intent to sell and illegal to sell/trade in drug paraphernalia. She pleaded not guilty and was ordered to post a $5,000 cash bond.

According to court documents, on March 8, 2025, at approximately 11:47 p.m., Schaffer was driving a car. She knowingly and unlawfully possessed drug paraphernalia and controlled substances. These were indicative of drug distribution. These include a small notebook with names of known drug users and dealers. It lists amounts owed to her. There are also two digital scales with a white powdery residue. A small Ziploc baggie is presumptively positive for methamphetamine. Additionally, there is a Ziploc baggie containing white, crystalline residue and a bag of hypodermic needles, documents state.

The listed items were found in Schaffer’s vehicle and personal belongings. This occurred during the execution of a search warrant, obtained after police initiated a traffic stop on Schaffer. The presence of the scales with residue suggests illegal activity. The ledger of drug transactions further implicates Schaffer. Meth-positive packaging materials prove probable cause Schaffer was engaged in the distribution of dangerous drugs.

Additionally, Schaffer is accused of knowingly and unlawfully possessing hypodermic needles. He also unlawfully possessed digital scales with meth residue. Documents state that these items are commonly used in the ingestion, preparation, or distribution of controlled substances.

Tribal Court also charged two people from Frazer in connection with drug dealing allegations.

Ackerman, 45, was charged with unlawful possession of dangerous drugs with intent to sell. She was also charged with illegal selling or trading in drug paraphernalia. Additionally, she possessed a firearm in a drug-related crime. There were two counts of felony abuse of a child. She pled not guilty and was placed on a $10,000 cash bond.

Court documents state on March 13, 2025, at a residence at or near 203 Assiniboine Ave. in Frazer, at approximately 12:06 p.m., police executed a search and officers recovered meth in a purse belonging to Ackerman.

Law enforcement also recovered drug paraphernalia consistent with drug distribution including packaging materials and storage containers, documents state.

A .22 caliber gun was found at the residence, reinforcing the connection between drug possession and trafficking activity. Surveillance before the search document frequent, short-stay visits to the residence, a patter commonly linked to drug sales. Two children were also there at the home when the search was executed.

Flynn, 49, was arrested at the residence. He was charged with illegal to sell/trade drug paraphernalia and two counts endangering the welfare of children. Police found him in possession with hypodermic syringes and containers for drug storage, documents state.

In court, both pleaded not guilty and were placed on cash bonds. Ackerman was placed on a $10,000 cash bond, and Flynn had a $500 cash bond.
