Federal and tribal authorities are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man in the Tribal Jail.

Anthony Friskey, 25, was being held in Fort Peck Tribal Jail when he died. The incident and events leading up to his death are currently part of public discussion after being posted on social media.

The Tribal Jail Director did not respond to calls seeking comment. Tribal Chairman Justin Gray Hawk said the incident is under investigation.

According to a Facebook post on the incident, Wes Headdress of Wolf Point was in jail at the time and in the cell next to Friskey. At the time, Friskey was complaining to the guard about feces on the walls. The guard started cursing at him and everyone was removed from the area while guards pepper sprayed Friskey.

Headdress said he was there on a charge of driving under the influence and they were in the front booking cells when this happened.

After clearing out the cells the guards put the prisoners back.

But not before making Friskey hold his mouth open so other inmates could see the damage as they bragged about teeth were knocked out by bean bag rounds fired from a shotgun at his face.

The guards that did this are still working.
